Donation Spotlight: Young Women Empowered
At KuKuRuZa Gourmet Popcorn, we try to give back every chance we get to the communities we've become a part of and that have given so much to us. We do so through our community donations and fundraising programs, through which we provide more than $2,500 of support every year to more than 100 organizations.

Today, we'd like to highlight an organization we've had the pleasure to work with recently - Young Women Empowered.

After offering a pilot 7-month leadership program in 2010, the participants of the program saw such incredible success that they banded together to formally create the Young Women Empowered organization to offer year-round programs for girls and women.

Y-WE provides mentorship and empowerment programs for teen women in the greater Seattle area. They serve a diverse group of girls, ages 12-18, and women mentors, ages 19-70+. Y-WE's ultimate goal is to empower young women leaders through inter-generational mentorship, intercultural collaboration, and creative programs that will equip them with the skills they need to achieve their personal goals and to improve their communities.

We're more than happy to support such a wonderful organization that is working to encourage young women to be leaders of their community and ultimately provide them with the goals to achieve their own goals. We wish them the very best in their continuing efforts to empower young women in the Greater Seattle Area.
