The little sister to our downtown location, the Ballard store is in the heart of Old Ballard on Market Street. Many of the employees (as well as our management staff) grew up or live in Ballard.   A while back a fundraising flyer caught our eye. It read, “You get to keep 20% of the proceeds!”, as though that was a generous amount. Surprisingly, this is what we see over and over again; fundraisers only get 10-20% of the sales and the company keeps the rest. So we decided to launch a fundraising program that actually helps community groups earn more money for their cause. We understand the value of time, and the less time it takes a group to reach their monetary goals the more they can focus on what matters- their cause! As a company, one of our favorite things is to support the communities that support us.         There’s something about the Pike Place neighborhood. From the tourists at Pike Place Market, to the business men heading to work, to the shoppers at Westlake Center, we see every variety of person come through our store in a given day. This area is a hot spot for unique and iconic Seattle businesses like Seattle Coffee Works and Starbucks, Rocky Mountain Chocolates, or the Tea and Crumpet Shop.         Our Lavender Lemonade popcorn is an ode to Seattle summer: A sweet yet tangy lemon caramel, made with real lemon zest, lemon and lavender essences, and balanced with aromatic lavender flowers. It's a little piece of our warm summer days, sitting in the sunshine and sipping lemonade with wafts of lavender coming out of the back garden.          Today we are going to follow one of our cooks, Tim, through the process of creating our Lavender Lemonade flavor from start to finish.      We start by air popping our mushroom kernels, and measuring out the popped 'flakes' into a 20 gallon container. Once the Lavender Lemon sugar base is caramelized to perfection in one of our kettles, we add the air popped corn, and allow it to coat each piece.      Then, we add real lemon zest and whole lavender flowers for bursts of floral...
